World News & Prophecy eNews ArchiveJanuary 11, 2007 Dear World News and Prophecy Subscriber, This week I have been involved with filming for our Beyond Today television program. We have done two programs you will find informative and interesting when you are able to view them on our Web site beyondtoday.tv. I combined with two of our other presenters, Gary Petty and Steve Myers, on a program called "When Terrorism Ends." We approached the subject from a different angle than normally heard. We began with what Bible prophecy and history tell us about terrorism's roots. The Bible shows us the origin in the story of Lucifer's rebellion against God and his attempt to force his will over that of God. Terrorism, wherever we find it and whatever the ideology, is one group's effort to force its will on another group. Violence has been an accepted means of accomplishing this goal. Our program shows there is a spiritual foundation to today's war on terror.
Our program shows that Zion belongs to the God of the Bible and His Messiah. In the near future armies will surround this ancient city, its inhabitants will experience three and a half years of tribulation, and then the rightful owner is going to arrive. Christ will appear in the heavens and take possession of His capital city and teach a way of peace and prosperity for all peoples. On our Web site we have a number of articles and presentations on Jerusalem that give more details on the future of this city at the center of world events, past, present and future. The article "The Future of Jerusalem" gives an overview. The following audio link gives a presentation by WNP senior writer Robin Webber on "Jerusalem, the Bull's-eye of Prophecy." Prayers for President Bush Like many of you, last evening I watched intently what President George Bush had to say about his latest plans for the American and allied military presence in Iraq. Most of his plan had been carefully leaked in advance so there was no surprise. I think we all realize this war in Iraq is having great consequences for the Middle East and much of the rest of the world. Regardless of one's political views, there is no doubt that this war will impact America for years to come. It is not being done in a vacuum, and we will see its effect. What struck me while watching the president was the obvious toll this war has taken on his life. His face was drawn and lined from the stress of not just the high office he holds, but also from the great pressure in his life from the responsibility he shoulders. I want to ask you to pray for President Bush in the way the apostle Paul teaches in this passage he wrote to Timothy. "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:1-4). Paul was not involved in partisan politics, nor are we. The course of our world and the momentous issues facing us are above all ideologies and human political parties. God is bringing to pass His plan on His schedule and in His way. Our world is moving closer to the times of trouble prophesied by Daniel and Christ. We will see our lives impacted by these gathering events, and we would do well to be moved to consider our lives, repent and begin seeking God's guidance in our lives. It's time we move away from the empty partisan politics of this world and focus on the knowledge of God's truth, which is the essential message of how we can be saved and given the gift of eternal life. Pray "Your kingdom come" as Christ taught us. And let's turn our hearts to the message of that coming Kingdom of God. It is the message we preach, and it is the one sure hope for today's world. Keep watching,
